The end, they say, justifies the means. Right?
A lady who stripped, danced at strip clubs so she can raise money and see herself through college has graduated and shared beautiful photos of the new her on Twitter.
Tyra, @HayleyMfPetals, shared these pictures and wrote on Twitter:
Them long nights of hustling paid off! Now GSU run me my diploma ✨#GSU18#TheSTATEWAY
Her family thought she was a waitress all the time she left home to go strip and make money for her school fees.
When she was asked if she was still going to continue dancing and be a stripper now that she’s graduated, Tyra replied:
It’s served its purpose 🤷🏾♀️. I’m starting to look into grad programs and post graduate internships now. Dancing helped me so much… but this was never a career… it was a job.
A male follower asked her:
What’s the point of having a Plan B? Plan A was getting you everything you want in life.
Who the hell wants to dance until they’re 65? Not me lol. No shade to all the OGs but… I will pass.
When a female follower commented that she doesn’t think a lot of people take into account what strippers actually go through, that they just see the money, Tyra replied:
That’s obvious when I have conversations with people. I literally pay to work, pay the DJ, security, house mom, and valet at my job. In order to make money I must spend a lot of money.
I’m so honest about everything. Some dancers want to throw shade at people working a 9-5. Not me, because y’all make money daily.
I could work every day for a week straight and make good $$$ then come back the next week and make nothing. It’s just how it goes.
While Tyra’s post sounded inspirational to some Twitter users, those who believed it was a shame slammed Tyra for being so bold to share the pictures.
Tyra lashed back at them though and shared this ‘advice’:
I’m in my bed eating cookies trying to respond to everyone. Thank you all for the support! I just hope this doesn’t end up on a meme on Instagram or Facebook. My grandma thinks I’m a waitress lmao 😭… Please don’t let a bitch ass thing stop you from shining ✨. I didn’t.
