Police arrest fake currency producer in Enugu


A fake currency producer identified as Collins Oputa, has been nabbed by the Enugu State Police Command.

 The Command’s spokesperson, SP Ebere Amaraizu, confirming the arrest said the suspect was picked up on July 26, by operatives of the Ogui Division over his alleged nefarious activities ranging from fake currency naira note production.

“Oputa, who claimed that he is a native of Ohaji Imo state  but residing at no 4 Fatima Close Ijegun Lagos state was nabbed by the operatives on 26/7/18 in Lagos following a manhunt initiated based on intelligence information gathered on his alleged criminal activities of producing and giving the fake currency naira notes to his agents for circulation” he said.

“Suspect is now helping the operatives in their investigations in relation to his alleged criminal activities with his cohorts”

Speaking on his arrest the suspect blamed the situation on satanic act and promised to quit the illicit business if he is freed.
